The best Keto foods

Keto is a fascinating dietary intervention — doctors were using it as a treatment for children with seizures long before it became a health fad. For certain issues (particularly relating to the brain), I think it makes sense to think through the potential tradeoffs for a given individual and consider a keto trial. As always, it’s best to consult with a physician before starting a new regimen.

Due to a cholesterol issue (as best as we can tell, directly and quickly caused by the keto diet), my household stopped keto not long after starting, but we did pick up a few favorite keto foods (good enough that we still eat them despite not being on keto).

Note: this is a spendy product, but it usually has at least a month or two before the best-by date, so I stock up when it’s on sale. For some reason, the price ranges between $0.39-$0.59 per oz depending on whether you’re shopping at Amazon Fresh vs. Whole Foods, and there are also regional differences 🤷‍♀️
