Waldorf kite paper stars that you can make at home
Stick-on snowflakes that come from Amazon but require a good eye for placement:
Curtain string lights (that you can put behind a sheer curtain for more glow)
I have fancy ones made by “Twinkly” that I got on sale a couple Christmasses ago—they are fully programmable and can do moving rainbows and things, but 95% of the time I just use the timer function to have them come on during the early evening hours and I set them to a warm white. #FFCA64
I’ve never done it, but I’m pretty interested in felting. I might start with acorns.
But there are also adorable kits of animals (I don’t even know the difference between needle felting and regular felting yet) (update: I have now tried “needle felting” which involves using a needle that has a few rough spots to bind loose wool in on itself as the fibers get pushed and pulled through themselves with the stabbing 😅)
And I think it might be fun to make insulated sleeves for mason jars, like this gorgeous shop:
Paper crafts:
With cutting machines, I’ve seen some incredible cedar fronds made from card stock. And ferns for wreaths.
Look at these 3D paper stars!
Martha Stewart also has instructions for traditional snowflakes.
I was going to make ~origami Christmas trees, but we didn’t have time.
I’ve also seen fancy metal Christmas trees made from flat aluminum craft wire that seemed cool.
