I don't know why this analogy isn't made more when talking about handling the pandemic.
Covid is like a fire that requires fuel and oxygen to burn. But instead of wood and oxygen, it requires human hosts.
By removing ourselves as a fuel source, an isolated group of humans could completely eliminate it in a couple of weeks.
Edit: seems like there are now reservoir species (like deer), so elimination isnβt really an option anymore π
But it does require hosts to mutate, so depriving it of fuel would still be quite valuable.
