Kerrygold Butter is the best

Regardless of whether or not you think that fats are actually healthy, it seems like you should enjoy the calories you're getting. Once you've had Kerrygold, I think you'll have trouble going back to any other butter. Not only is it delicious, it's also much easier to spread, even right out of the fridge.

It's so good that I will often not put it on things if I think it will melt, or I'll put it on one bite at a time so that there's visible butter when I put it in my mouth.

(it is expensive, so I usually use TJ's generic butter or Land O’Lakes unsalted for baking and Kerrygold for spreading — TJ’s often has the best price for Kerrygold)

Update: Consumer Reports has evaluated butters and I have it on my list to give their favorites a try.

Further update: I’m usually pretty strict about choosing animal products that consider the lives of the animals, and I’ve been letting Kerrygold by with “grass fed” but maybe I could be doing better? It’s hard for me to tell when organic is meaningful, but I might hunt around for other options.

It comes in an 8oz block, a box of 4 4oz sticks, and an 8oz tub—listed from least to most expensive per oz. I have a butter bell at home, so the 8oz blocks are perfect, but when things are too hectic, I’ll just plop the block into a tub I’ve saved in my Tupperware drawer. You’d think it would require similar work to smooshing it into the butter bell, but you’d be wrong! 😅 🧈

(there’s something about it that prevents it from ever being hard and unspreadable like regular butter—higher fat maybe?)
