I think one thing that discourages people from massage at home is that massage oil is messy (and inaccessible?) but/and massage isn't as good without it. A massage bar is solid at room temperature and melts at body temperature β genius!
Lush even makes little tins to store their bars in. I think "Therapy" is the most innocuous (and is often praised for helping with stretch mark prevention during pregnancy). Then maybe the honey "Soft Coeur" or "Wiccy Magic Muscles" the icy hot one with the little beans (which will eventually fall out...)
Massage Bars | Lush Fresh Handmade Cosmetics
Our solid massage bars are perfect for rubbing tired feet and warming aching muscles. This packaging-free take on a massage oil can be used as a travel-friendly alternative to body butter on the road.

(If I had more time for crafty projects, I might try making them at home to give away at the holidays π)
(I do have friends that use massage lotion (instead of oil) and a number of them vouch for Biotone Advanced Therapy Lotion which many professionals seem to recommend.)
