We usually reserve this for the holidays, but it’s one of my favorite things to accompany chicken and dead simple to make, so I keep it on the menu year-round.
Ingredients
10-12oz bag of cranberries, fresh or frozen (pick through, discarding any squishy/white/bad looking ones)
3/4 cup water
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 tsp salt
- Bring the water, sugar, and salt to a boil (stirring to dissolve), and add the cranberries.
- Simmer while stirring until 2/3 of the cranberries have popped and the texture is becoming jammy.
- Take the mixture off the heat and let it sit for 30min to “gel.”

Makes about 2 cups. Can be stored in the fridge for a week, but bring it to room temperature before serving.
